Siemens AG, the German conglomerate, is talking with private equity firms about the possible sale of Nokia Siemens Networks, its telecommunications joint venture with Nokia Corp. Nokia Siemens has operations in Irving. Siemens has other operations in Irving and Plano and Nokia has offices in Irving, as well. The Wall Street Journal reported that Siemens has approached a number of buyout firms including Fort Worth-based TPG, Blackstone Group LP and KKR about their possibly buying the joint venture. The Journal reported that analysts said, as a business, Nokia Siemens Networks could be worth $9.36 billion, including debt. In April, a change to the shareholder agreement that allows each partner in Nokia Siemens to explore options for its stake without the risk of a veto by the other party, the Journal said.
