The Office of Environmental Stewardship announces the following awards: Karen Siddall, Drainage Program Coordinator, recently received the Texas Stream Team Partner Recognition Award. The award recognizes her promotion of the Texas Stream Team Program, getting people in Irving involved and for performing 79 monitoring demonstrations in 2012. Siddall also received the Exemplary Service Award in the category of Public Education from the Texas Water Utilities Association-North Central Texas Regional School on May 14. This award is given to those who serve the need for improved public awareness about the importance of water and the issues involved in the water utilities industry. Recipients must have performed acts of service such as giving talks or demonstrations, conducting tours and utilizing the news media. Siddall had 108 events/classes/demonstrations, with 16,010 attendees in FY 2011-12. The City of Irving will be recognized on June 6 for receiving first place in the category of “Closing the Loop” at theGreater DFW Recycling Alliance‘s 2013 Recycling Leadership Awards Luncheon.
