Four Irving nonprofits had volunteers pitching in at the recent North Texas LPGA Shootout. The volunteers worked concessions to raise funds for their charities. Among the volunteers were Crystal Ramirez-Scanio and Elspeth Allen of Irving Schools Foundation; Doug Fox of the YMCA, David Cole, who’s a YMCA board member; Teddie Story of Irving Cares and Teddy Aribisala, executive director of oncology services at Baylor Irving. The fourth charity was the Irving Healthcare Foundation, which raises funds for Baylor Irving and four other organizations. La Buena Vida Foundation, a nonprofit started by members of Las Colinas Country Club, also helped out at the tournament. The Shootout, which organizers said exceeded expectations in drawing top women golfers and large crowds, benefited The Nexus Club. Headquartered in Las Colinas, the nonprofit presents world-class golf to promote girls golf in the Dallas area.
