An unnamed partner of BlackBerry has ordered 1 million of its new BlackBerry 10 smartphones. Fox Business reported that it was the single largest order in BlackBerry’s history. The new phones were released in January abroad with the hopes that they would turn the struggling Canadian technology company’s fortunes. The Z10 model phones will be released in the United States on March 22, with carriers such as Dallas-based AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) already taking pre-orders. BlackBerry’s U.S. headquarters is in Irving. BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY) said that shipments on the purchase would begin immediately.
