The late Mickey Watson had lots of friends. And he gave back to his community in many ways. Those friends came to the East Branch Library Monday evening for the opening of the Mickey Watson Quiet Room. The Friends of the Irving Public Library raised more than $5,000 to create the room in Watson’s honor. After brief remarks by library director Christine Dobson, Watson’s widow Martha Watson cut the ribbon and entered the cozy room. She said she was touched by the support for her late husband. The East Branch is at 440 S. Nursery Road. Call 972-721-3722.
