A former semiconductor factory in Irving has been purchased by a Kansas company that will transform the building into a data center. Quality Technology Services said that it acquired the 40-acre, 700,000-square-foot industrial facility in Las Colinas at 4800 Longhorn Drive near State Highway 114. The complex was built in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Bo Bond with Jones Lang LaSalle brokered the property sale. Overland Park-based Quality Technology said it bought the buildings to meet high-demand and growing data center markets. The new Irving facility will open next year. “We conducted an extensive search when looking for the next site to add to our nationwide portfolio of data centers,” CEO Chad Williams said in a statement.
