The LPGA Tour is returning to the Dallas-Fort Worth area with the North Texas LPGA Shootout, April 25-28 at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving. The tournament will be the LPGA’s first Texas appearance since the 2009 LPGA Tour Championship Presented by Rolex near Houston. It will mark the Tour’s first stop in North Texas since the 1991 U.S. Women’s Open at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. The North Texas LPGA Shootout will feature a 144-player field competing for a $1.3 million purse. The event also presents a unique opportunity for amateur players in the area to earn spots in the field through qualifying. Tournament exemptions will be awarded to the winners of a high school and collegiate “shootout.” Tournament proceeds will benefit The Nexus Club, a fundraiser for the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf in North Texas.
