Parents can look up their children’s grades and listen to football games on the new smart phone application being released by Irving ISD on December 12. This is another step in our effort to be transparent, accessible and openly engage our community,” said Dr. Dana T. Bedden, the Irving ISD superintendent.  “We want anyone with a smart phone to connect directly with our district.”

Taxpayers can see how their money is spent and alumni can find out when and where events will take place on campus. Both district and school websites will be transformed to a smart phone format. The district is one of the first in North Texas and only 32 in Texas to adopt the app in partnership with School Connect, which provides the service at no charge to the district.      “This puts us in an elite position among Texas school districts,” said Nicholas Love, communications coordinator working on the project.  “It opens the window to our schools anytime, anywhere.”

The app is available to anyone with an Apple or Android smart phone and installation is free through the App Store on Apple and the Android Market. To download, go to School Connect, click on “Download Your School’s App” and search Irving ISD.
