On Nov. 9, 1972 then-Irving Mayor Dan Matkin signed a proclamation establishing a Convention and Visitors Bureau in Irving, Texas. On Thursday, November 8, 2012 the Mayor Beth Van Duyne presented a proclamation to current ICVB board members and past board chairs on during the Irving City Council meeting, as well as the 40th Anniversary Logo.

A historical video was shown during a special reception at City Hall, as well as during the City Council meeting. The video presented the Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau its 40th Anniversary. Hear reflections on how the bureau started, and the impact it makes in the city.
