Irving ISD is actively searching for business professionals to serve on Signature Studies Advisory Committees that support the high school career technical education program.  Advisory committee members meet with teachers who teach in a particular field of study (such as medical, engineering, etc.) 4 times a year during lunch or late afternoon.  They review the program’s curriculum and ask for feedback from committee members to ensure that the curriculum is up-to-date with industry.

There are 15 career pathways offered at IISD.  Of the fifteen areas of study, advisory council members are needed in the following areas: Business, Marketing, Finance, Biomedical Science or Engineering, Dietetics, Agriculture, and Cosmetology. This is a great way to get involved with education and helping to prepare your industry’s future workforce. If you would like more information, contact Thelma Cantu, Partners in Education coordinator, at or 972-600-5017.
