On Monday, Aeromexico will restart passenger air service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Mexico City International Airport — just in time for the holiday traffic surge. “I am very excited about the possibilities,” Alfaro said. “I’m really happy a Mexican airline will start serving the area.” That’s music to Aeromexico officials’ ears. Currently no other Mexican airline flies to D/FW. Aeromexico Connect will operate a new Embraer 190 regional jet, with 99 seats. Two daily flights will leave the D/FW Airport for Mexico at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. and arrive at D/FW from Mexico City at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Travelers can connect to Aeromexico’s 45 destinations in Mexico and 32 in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia or through 17 airline partners in the SkyTeam global airline alliance. Mexico’s largest carrier also faces some challenges namely overcoming any hard feelings from when it left this market in 2006 after 12 years.
