Two of the area’s most famous sports voices are speaking for those who can’t speak for themselves. On Saturday, October 27, ESPN radio host and voice of the Dallas Mavericks, Chuck Cooperstein will serve as emcee for the 2012 Black Collar Affair’s Strut Your Mutt and Meow Howl-o-ween Costume Contest and Pet Parade, with longtime Dallas Cowboys play-by-play announcer Brad Sham emceeing the evening gala. Both events will occur at Las Colinas Country Cluband benefit the DFW Humane Society. This family fun event is free and open to the public.

New this year to the 12-year-old Black Collar Affair is the Strut Your Mutt and Meow Howl-o-ween Costume Contest and Pet Parade. The event runs from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and will include celebrity judges; a butt and mutt-sketch artist; pet photos; pet kissing booth; face painting; yummy treats for pets and humans; fun games; and more. Guests will also have the first chance to “sniff out” and bid on the Black Collar Affair’s silent auction.

“The DFW Humane Society continues to positively impact the welfare of animals in Irving and the DFW region,” says Rick Bidne, DFW Humane Society Board President. “Events such as the Black Collar Affair help to raise contributions needed to operate our shelter and provide excellent care for our animals.”
