On Tuesday October 9, 700 employees from Irving-based VHA Inc. and its family of companies, Novation, Provista and Apexus, volunteered at 20 local nonprofit agencies across the Dallas area as part of its 10thannual Community Day. Volunteer projects included planting a school garden with REAL School Gardens at Crockett Elementary School in Grand Prairie, painting and landscaping a park pavilion with Keep Irving Beautiful, sorting produce and meat at the North Texas Food Bank and numerous other activities such as providing skills-based support. In recognition of VHA’s commitment to the local community, Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne declared October 9, 2012 “A day of gratitude and celebration for 10 years of VHA Community Day.” Attending the employee banquet, Van Duyne thanked participants for being “exemplary corporate citizens” since selecting Irving-Las Colinas as its headquarters in 1980.
