Keep Irving Beautiful Outreach  Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) attended the North Lake College Student Service Learning Fair held at the main campus on MacArthur Blvd. This is the ninth semester that KIB has partnered with North Lake College to help students participate in the various KIB community projects and also receive course credit. Last semester, students painted the pavilion at Luzon Park, attended various community events, school fairs and performed a skit at Senter Park Recreation Center. 

Labor Day Weekend No-Refusal Operation Results – The Irving Police Department participated in the statewide Impaired Driving Mobilization grant over the Labor Day weekend (Aug. 31 to Sept. 1).The no-refusal operations allow officers to bring suspected drunk drivers to a location where additional personnel are located in order to streamline the no-refusal process. Forty people were arrested for driving while intoxicated and 73 citations were issued for various traffic violations.

New Programming Opportunity  Irving Community Television Network (ICTN) is now available on AT&T U-verse. ICTN programming and meetings are now available nationally through the service. To view ICTN on U-verse, tune to Channel 99, and select The City of Irving under the cities menu. Viewers will then have a choice between ICTN 1, 2 or 3. ICTN also is available on the following:

  • ICTN 1–Time Warner Channel 16/Verizon Channel 30
  • ICTN 2–Time Warner Channel 95/Verizon Channel 31
  • ICTN 3–Time Warner Channel 96/Verizon Channel 32
