In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Baylor Medical Center at Irving’s rooftop lights have changed to pink. The traditional bulbs have been replaced with pink solar lights. The lights will glow pink through Oct. 31. “The pink lights are just another way to confirm our commitment to provide advanced quality care for our breast cancer patients,” Baylor Irving president Cindy Schamp said in a news release. The hospital also helps to raise awareness of and funds for breast cancer organizations through its annual Bras for a Cause project, a Pink Survivor Party, area high school “Pink Out” football games and “Pink Out Fridays” with hospital employees and staff. Schamp adds that the lights and other programs “remind us to stay vigilant in the fight against breast cancer and to be optimistic that we will someday find a cure.”
