Household Hazardous Waste Collection: Solid Waste Services is making it even easier for residents to dispose of household hazardous waste. Items accepted include pool chemicals, cleaners and polishes, craft and hobby supplies, home repair products, lawn and garden chemicals, automotive fluids, and fluorescent light bulbs. These items will be accepted on Oct. 27. Vouchers are required, and can be requested through Solid Waste Services by calling (972) 721-8059. Something Wicked this Way Comes, Haunted Firehouse: East Branch Library, 440 S. Nursery Road, will be transformed into a haunted firehouse straight out of “Fahrenheit 451” from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 28. Children of all ages will enjoy crafts, games and trick-or-treating in the haunted firehouse. See if you can find your way back out and don’t forget to watch out for wicked things!

Town Hall Meetings: There will be two upcoming Town Hall Meetings at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Heritage Senior Center, 200 S. Jefferson and 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at Ranchview High School, 8401 Valley Ranch Parkway East for residents and businesses.
