The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce has launched a program to help grow current businesses in Heritage Crossing by creating the Heritage Crossing Merchants Alliance.  The initial meeting was held August 30th with President/CEO of the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber, Chris Wallace, welcoming the business leaders to the initial meeting and explaining the purpose of the Alliance to be a cooperative marketing. Promotional ideas will be developed by the Heritage Crossing businesses, with support from the Chamber staff, and funded through the cooperative effort of the local businesses.

Chris Hooper with the City of Irving presented information on the  proposed expansion of the Fourth of July parade and December Holiday parade in Heritage Crossing, plus the adding of six new events on the first Saturday from April to October with the intent to bring more customers into Heritage Crossing. Other ideas discussed by the Alliance were group mailings to selected areas of the City, a merchants “trick or treat” for area children on October 31st , cooperative advertising in selected media, and the creation of an event to welcome new residents and introduce them to Heritage Crossing  The Irving Hispanic Chamber participated to add its support for this new economic development program for growing local businesses.  The businesses were encouraged to participate in the revitalized Shop In Irving campaign and to  “like” the “Shop-In-Irving” page on Facebook.

The next meeting of the Heritage Crossing Merchants Alliance will be October 25th , 6:15 p.m., at the Chamber Information Center at 135 S. Jefferson in Heritage Crossing.
