Irving’s Corporate Communications has received two first-place state awards from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers for its communications programs. “City Spectrum” received a TAMI award in the resident newsletter category, while Irving Community Television Network was recognized with a TAMI award for its “City Source” news show. Irving competes against the state’s largest cities for these awards. TAMIO is an affiliate organization of the Texas Municipal League.
The Irving Public Library received its fifth annual Big Read grant to host celebrations in the community on this year’s novel, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. During October, residents are encouraged to read Bradbury’s book and participate in the planned book discussions and programs.
