Irving-based Aviall
Services, Inc.
has lined up worldwide distribution rights for certain aircraft
engine parts manufactured by GE Aviation. The aviation parts company — a
non-integrated subsidiary of Chicago-based Boeing Co — said it is now
distributing thrust reverser spare parts designed and manufactured by Middle
River Aircraft Systems a division of GE Aviation. The reverse thrusters are
used in the CF6-80C2 and -80E engines, which power a variety of civilian
airliners. Aviall said it has also made a deal with GE Aviation to distribute
spare parts for J85 engines to the United States Air Force. Aviall employs
about 1,400 people, including 850 in Irving. The company has seen annual growth
rates of more than 20 percent since 2000, including a 26 percent revenue growth
year-over-year in 2011, company officials have said.
