Robert F. Pence, President and CEO of Freese and Nichols, has been honored by Ernst & Young, LLP as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2012 Award in the Southwest Area North program. Pence and other regional finalists were recognized during a gala on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Hyatt Regency Dallas Hotel in Dallas.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year program honors business leaders who have demonstrated extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Nominees are reviewed by a panel of eight judges composed of local business leaders, previous award winners, leading CEOs and private capital investors.
“Bob exemplifies the very spirit of this award through his tremendous leadership and vision,” said Bob Herchert, chairman of the board of Freese and Nichols. “Even though the firm has existed for 118 years, Bob continues seeking out innovative solutions to strengthen the firm’s position and address the changing needs of our industry.”
In addition to building the Freese and Nichols energy group, Pence was recognized for his ongoing commitment to the continuous improvement programs that have helped the firm strengthen client relationships and increase profitability.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award program takes place in 140 cities from 50 countries throughout the world. The winner of the Southwest Area North program, which encompasses North Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, will be considered for the Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur of the Year Program. The national award winner will be announced during a gala in Palm Springs, Calif., on November 17, 2012.
