africankoreanevent.jpgThe Irving Convention Center was shaking this past weekend when the Korean and African-American community celebrated what is expected to become an annual event: Resonance & Harmony: A Celebration of African and Korean Cultures in America.

More than 2,000 attendees were present Sunday afternoon for this event which featured an impressive lineup of performers, both local and from as far away as South Korea. The event was presented by the Korean Cultural Center, the U.S. Taekwondo Society and the Greater Dallas Korean-American Chamber of Commerce. Local personalities that participated include Shaun Hailey (Gospel Hip Hop) and NBC’s Randy McIlwain. There were a number of noteworthy sponsors, including metroPCS and Irving Sister Cities.
