Irving Wellness Incentive Now (I Win) program consisted of four main
components: biometric testing, physical fitness tests, wellness days off and
retiree insurance premium credit. Each component was designed to keep employees
motivated, engaged and rewarded.
Employees must not use tobacco to receive monetary incentives. The city has also implemented a tobacco-cessation program to help employees kick the habit. The Wellness Day Off is achieved by accumulating at least 200 points through participation in wellness-based activities throughout the year. Working out at the gym, attending wellness speaker forums, getting annual physicals, flu shots, losing or maintaining a healthy weight are all methods of accumulating points.
